Who is Priya Runchal: Actor John Abraham shared on January 3 that he and his wife Priya Runchal both tested positive for COVID-19. Abraham further revealed in his post that both had mild symptoms.

the Madras Cafe The actor shared an Instagram story on Monday, reading: “I came into contact 3 days ago with someone who I later learned had COVID. Priya and I tested positive for COVID “We have been quarantined at home, so we have not been in contact with anyone else. We are both vaccinated and have mild symptoms, prayers remain fine and healthy. Mask yourself.”

As the number of coronavirus cases in the country rises again, state governments have reimposed restrictions and partial lockdown situations in various parts of the country. The spike comes after numerous cases of Omicron – a new variant of the coronavirus that can evade immunity to vaccines and valuable infections.

India reported 33,750 new coronavirus cases and 123 deaths on Monday. The number of recoveries is 10,846, bringing the current number of cases in India to 1,45,582. While the number of cases of the Omicron variant in India has climb to 1,700, of which 639 have recovered.

Before Abraham and his wife, many Bollywood celebrities tested positive for COVID-19 in the last month of 2021. While Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora tested positive after attending a director-producer party and presenter Karan Johar in mid-December, Arjun Kapoor tested positive last week, alongside his sister Anshula and cousin Rhea Kapoor.

Who is Priya Runchal?

Priya Runchal is an exceptional Bollywood bride, who not only stays out of the limelight, but the industry itself, completely focused on her career.

A financial analyst and investment banker, she married Abraham in 2014. According to her husband, Runchal is a private person, which explains her decision to stay out of the spotlight.

Runchal hail from McLeodganj and met Abraham in 2010. She worked at Goldman Sachs and the World Bank. She also holds a scholarship from the London Business School. After marrying Abraham, Runchal eventually moved to Mumbai.

In a 2016 interviewAbraham said his wife takes care of everything from management to finances. “She’s a good teammate, my partner in everything, but doesn’t like to go to too many functions. Anyone else in her place would love to go out in a red dress and walk the red carpet, she prefers to focus on credible causes.

Further speaking about his wife’s strong sense of identity, Abraham added that she didn’t want to be called an actor’s wife and preferred to create her own space.
