In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of revenue assurance including reporting, advanced data analytics, leak management, leak prevention and business process modification.
He or she will monitor financial and operational metrics, work with other departments to implement best practices, and define error resolution processes. This role requires a unique blend of business and technical skills to effectively carry out the required activities.
Perform financial forecasting, reporting and tracking of operational metrics.
Analyze financial data and create financial models to aid in business decision making
Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends in relation to revenue assurance practices. Implement quality assurance for all revenue impacting processes.
Continuously work to understand and mitigate losses to ensure the highest levels of revenue recognition.
Work with department heads and executives to maximize company profits by analyzing revenue data, tracking expenses, and developing business strategies to stay on top of emerging technologies.
Perform regular reconciliation and analysis of revenue streams.
Monitor the accuracy of collection processes.
Work with management to formulate policies and procedures to identify and block leak and fraud deficiencies.
Report financial performance and prepare for regular management reviews.
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
Perform data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Business Objects, SQL and MS-Access
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and applying policies and procedures.
Provide trend and forecast analysis and recommend optimization actions.
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; investigate proposed changes in methods and materials.
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
Analyze data/reports to identify opportunities and areas for improvement
Initiate business process changes that may affect the company’s ability to identify, monitor, or collect revenue (eg, new system implementations/upgrades, new product rollouts, etc.).
Degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field. A professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in a financial analyst/revenue assurance role (2 years must be in revenue assurance or billing and at least 3 years in a role where revenue analysis data, data reconciliation and data presentation were necessary).
Skills and competences:
Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles
Strong project management and planning skills
Ability to write advanced SQL and analyze large datasets
Strong PC software application skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentation software
Advanced level experience in developing business object reports
Analytical thinker able to process information in a logical manner providing value-added analysis
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
