Heck began his career in the industry in 2001 at Worldco and came to Merrill in 2004, according to BrokerCheck. That same year, the couple co-founded the Leone-Heck Group, according to the company.
Barbe also began his industry career at Merrill in 2012, according to BrokerCheck.
“We continue to focus on recruiting and retaining the most productive financial advisors in the industry,” Jean-Alexandre, director of the 1285 Avenue of the Americas branch at UBS Wealth Management, said in a statement.
UBS has poached several major producer rivals in recent weeks, including a pair of Merrill advisers overseeing $ 400 million, a team overseeing $ 2 billion at Morgan stanley as well as advisers from Wells fargo and JP Morgan.
But UBS has also seen significant departures, including a $ 900 million advisory team that left for Stifel earlier this month and two other teams who fled to Stifel in September, as well as several advisers who left for Rockefeller Capital Management and Apollon Wealth Management.
