Full Time Junior Financial Analyst


Purpose of the position:

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Junior Financial Analyst is directly responsible for processing, tracking and managing income and expenses, month-end reports, year-end reports, and corporate compliance. BOW. The Junior Financial Analyst will assist in the development of operating budgets and provide financial, statistical and analytical reports to be used for monitoring, evaluation (risk mitigation) and future planning of projects within the Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

Functions:
1. Prepare and publish month-end financial and statistical journal entries
2. Find and analyze deviations and process the appropriate corrections
3. Reconcile the accounts of the statement of financial position
4. Review and manage investments in accordance with the investment policy
5. Prepare financial statements and cash flow projections
6. Recording and processing of donation income
7. Electronic and cash deposits
8. Invoicing and monitoring of receivables for events and lotteries
9. Processing and payment of expenses
10. Maintain records of capital disbursements
11. Supervise compliance with the procurement policy
12. Prepare and validate year-end financial journal entries
13. Examine and reconcile accounts
14. Prepare audit working documents
15. Prepare and issue charitable tax receipts in accordance with CRA requirements
16. Prepare supporting documents for submission of T3010
17. Develop and assess program statistics and trends to provide a basis for the operating budget.
18. Develop the operating budget in collaboration with the Director General and the Foundation team
19. Prepare operating budget reports and supporting documents to be presented to the finance committee and board of directors
20. Completing HST rebate remittances in accordance with CRA regulations
21. Assist in the development of new procedures and updates to existing procedures
22. Create and design reports and spreadsheets to provide value-added data and analysis to the Executive Director and the Foundation team
23. Support the role of the administrative assistant to meet the Foundation’s objectives and deadlines.
24. Perform other duties as assigned by management
25. Complies with all policies and procedures of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation and Sault Area Hospital

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in administration with a major in accounting

Knowledge Competence and ability:
1. Working knowledge of CRA regulations for registered charities
2. Good working knowledge of accounting and financial information principles and procedures
3. Ability to navigate software applications related to general ledger systems
4. Understanding of financial controls and procedures
5. In-depth knowledge of the total financial cycle
6. Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team in a fast paced environment under stressful situations
7. Customer service, interpersonal and telephone skills
8. Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment and experience with Blackbaud fundraising software
9. Ability to organize time efficiently to accomplish the duties of the position
10. Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner
11. Behavior consistent with the mission, values ​​and performance standards of the SAH Foundation
12. Ability to read, write and communicate to accomplish the duties of the position
13. Analytical and problem-solving skills to prepare and maintain complex accounting transactions and to reconcile differences within established accounting systems
14. Ability to interpret, explain and comply with negotiated contracts, prescribed laws, rules, regulations and procedures
15. Ability to develop and maintain database files; create spreadsheets and other related forms, reports and documents
