Summary (role overview):
We are looking for three financial analysts to join us. Roles can be based in our offices in Manchester, Birmingham or Leeds. Two roles are permanent and one role is temporary to cover maternity leave until March 2023.
We are a national trade body, regulating an industry that provides accommodation for over 4 million people across England. We work collaboratively in a flexible working environment to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector. The social housing market has become increasingly complex and the nature and extent of the risks that registered providers must manage are correspondingly more difficult.
This role belongs to the regulatory operations team which is made up of finance and governance specialists. Through our regulatory approach, we work with suppliers to ensure that we understand their short- and medium-term viability issues, and when we engage in depth with suppliers, we are collectively able to come to a conclusion on quality of supplier governance, risk profile, value for money approach and financial soundness.
Job Description (the successful candidate will be responsible for):
You will work as part of a team to carry out detailed financial analysis work on a portfolio of suppliers to gain assurance that the regulator’s economic standards are met and the financial viability of suppliers is maintained. You will obtain this assurance by analyzing various data statements submitted to us in addition to suppliers’ corporate information (including financial accounts and business plans). Through in-depth assessments, you’ll seek assurance that suppliers understand their assets and liabilities, as well as their security posture. The team will look for evidence that vendor stress tests are aligned with this information and can demonstrate early access to it in decision-making and risk management. Along with analyzing the data and highlighting the findings in written reports, meetings will be held with selected providers.

Responsibilities (In order to fulfill the responsibilities of this role, the successful candidate will:
You will have a financial background and relevant professional qualification (or be in the process of obtaining one) and will be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with an ability to exercise sound professional judgment and draw conclusions. An ability to understand the principles of good governance and risk management is desirable and additional training will be offered.

Over the past 12 months, we have seen an increase in internal promotions within the Regulatory Operations team.
Our offices have now reopened, and we are moving towards a hybrid work model with a mix of office/work from home.
RSH’s main offices are in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. Our positions can be successfully performed from any RSH office, unless otherwise specified in the job information. We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours.
Most roles involve travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve site visits to social housing providers.
Interview dates are due in late April/early May and will take place via Microsoft Teams in accordance with our current hybrid working model.

The salary for this role is a cash salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government salary award. In addition, when the trial period is successfully completed, a performance-related bonus may be granted, based on the evaluation scores at the end of the qualifying evaluation year.
