Financial Analyst, Decision Support (FP&A) – Healthcare Financial Analysis

Overview:
OrthoCarolina is looking for a qualified professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst to join our decision support team.

The Financial Analyst partners with C-Suite and operational leaders to identify, inform and recommend improvement strategies to enhance OrthoCarolina’s operational success. The role will involve some degree of involvement in the annual budget process and may interact with the internal/external audit function. We are looking for someone who is curious, self-directed, able to easily communicate complex ideas to the uninitiated, and comfortable working with executives and physicians, with the ability to work independently, make mature/complex judgments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, prepare and deliver pro forma financial statements that provide segment, regional and company-wide profitability analyzes
• Leverage financial modeling skills to derive meaningful insights from complex data sets and propose solutions
• Pro forma preparations can/will include: quantification of incremental revenues, expense savings, new expenses and ROI measures) for the introduction of new service lines, new vendors, merger activities and cashless acquisition, analysis of CAPEX investments for medical equipment and/or new office locations
• Work cross-functionally across OrthoCarolina departments to unlock value and drive profitability opportunities
• Solve complex problems and share critical information to enable alignment within the organization
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, report and develop solutions in line with strategy and position
• Query BI or Tableau databases, using SQL and other programming languages
• Prepare/distribute recurring month-end reports informing orthopedic and ancillary KPIs, revenue cycle management and missed revenue opportunities
• Flexibility to multi-task and perform ad-hoc reports as needed
• This position offers remote work for applicants in North Carolina or South Carolina, and a smart business dress code. Occasionally physical presence in the office may be necessary or even preferred

Qualifications:
Minimum
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce or related field
• 2-3+ years of experience in financial analysis, healthcare finance/operations, or other highly analytical role
• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/PPT required, with significant experience in creating pivot tables
• Experience with in-depth financial analysis and analytical modeling
• Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (eg EPIC, Tableau, Impromptu, etc.)
Prefer
• Exceptional analytical skills and demonstrated ability to create financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis and problem solving
• Experience performing financial and ad-hoc analysis using advanced Excel functionality and providing results-based recommendations to senior management
• Demonstrates strong analytical ability in healthcare research and/or develops creative solutions to problems
• The ability to solve complex problems and think through both quantitative (pro forma impacts) and qualitative (“non-numerical”) factors in making decisions for the business
• Knowledge of query and programming languages
• Proficiency in Great Plains, Cognos/Impromptu, Experian Contract Manager, EPIC is also strongly desired
• Ability to effectively consolidate, analyze and communicate complex data
